A Skeleton Story

It’s been 6 years since 3 fun-loving skeletons showed up at our front door as a simple, fun Halloween activity for my son.

I am continually amazed at the impact that the Skeletons of Vivian Line have on people’s lives…and the stories that people share with us.

Our primary goal is to make people smile and laugh.  It is also to promote Halloween as a fun, creative, imaginative holiday.

We are taking 5 ordinary skeletons and doing something different with them every day – they continually challenge our creative juices by coming up with a different antic.

We have received so many wonderful compliments, how people smile every day when they drive by or follow us online, the skeletons stories that are helping little kids learn to read, classrooms that follow the skeletons and then create their own projects or writing assignments. The list goes on…

This is my favourite skeleton story.  Two years ago, brothers, Caleb and Luca showed up at my door with a picture of the skeletons, their parents would bring them by to see the skeletons every day.

Last year 6-year-old Caleb asked me how I came up with ideas and how to set them up.  I told him about my ideas book, and how I sketch out and write lists of ideas/props.

With the help of his mom and dad and little brother Luca, Caleb started setting up his own unique displays and changing them every couple of days.  At the end of Halloween I was honoured to receive his ideas book, and photos of his displays.  Compare his art gallery vs. my art class…

Over the past year, Caleb has collected 3 skeletons, Candy Corn, Jack Bones, and Pumpkin Spice with numerous boney pets and is creating the amazing ‘Fairfield Skeletons’ displays …he also has a no-repeat policy.   I love the car covered with bird poop!

This story warms our bones.  Caleb, inspired by the Skeletons of Vivian Line, is using his imagination and creativity every day to bring smiles to everyone who sees the Fairfield Skeletons.  It was a pleasure to work with this very talented, creative child and his family yesterday collaborating on the skateboarding scene.

This story is our greatest Skeleton compliment and our inspiration.

SMILE… LAUGH… and ENJOY!
