Thank You Skeleton Fans

Skeleton Fans – YOU are Amazing!   Thanks to your generosity we raised $15,000 for Operation Smile Canada. This gives 62 children born with cleft conditions in developing countries the gift of a new smile.

Through online donations, the food truck fundraiser, skeleton shirts and merchandise sales, as well as the donation box in front of the house we raised OVER $7,000.00!!  A very generous anonymous Skeleton Fan matched this amount.

Christmas is coming and we have the perfect gift for your list.  Skeleton t-shirts and long-sleeved shirts with bones on the arms are available to show off your humerus side!   Most child, youth and adult sizes are still available.   You don’t have to worry about it being stuck at sea in a cargo container – they can be picked up at the Skeleton Headquarters or mailed to you through Canada Post.  For more information or to place your order, contact us at skeletonsofvivianline@gmail.com

100% of all the money put in the donation box, and proceeds from the sales of all Skeleton merchandise goes to Operation Smile Canada

Our operating budget to create the antics is bare-bones, created as a labour of love coming out of my pocket.  I am incredibly grateful for everyone who creates or lends us the props, as well as those who volunteer their time to come to help create the displays.

A HUGE thank you to Barb and the team at Akins-Brewer Lumber, Shakespeare for supplying the labour and materials to build our pirate ship The Vivian Liner.

To the very kind person who showed up in my driveway and offered to pay for all the Halloween treats this year, your generosity meant so much to me.

We almost didn’t have a skeleton season this year, not because of road construction, but because when we were about to start our season, we only had one working skeleton!  YIKES!!
I didn’t realize my closet full of skeletons was actually empty.
Fortunately, I was able to add to the family at the last minute, but some ended up breaking their bones right out of the box… they certainly don’t make bones like they used to!

Thank you to Brian Elliott, from Elliott Motors who gave me some special adhesive, so my skeleton doctor and I could perform several spinal reconstructive surgeries.

I could not create the skeleton antics without the following key people who make it a success.

We hired Linda Mae Ogilvie, The Virtual Trillium, years ago to be responsible for all the skeletons social media and spreading the smiles around the world. She does an incredible job putting together the Emails, Facebook/Instagram posts and Stories, and picking the best music to go with our videos.  (check out the Instagram reel when the skeletons were at the beach – I am still laughing about the song selection).

Libby Anderson, Cobblestone Laser Engraving who works tirelessly to print the skeletons shirts.  She did an incredible job helping me design our new long-sleeved shirts.

Diane M, Dawn, Lisa K, the Schmidt family for helping set up the displays and adding their creative touches and props.  They help make the Skeleton antics come alive and gives them their unique personalities.   A special boney high five to the Neumeister family for their help on Halloween weekend.

Galen Simmons, Beacon Herald and Jamie Cottle, Juice FM for spreading the news about the Skeletons antics!

Chris Steingart, QT Web Designs for all of his hard work on our website

Skeleton fans – THANK YOU for sharing our antics around the world.  Reading and listening to your comments, and seeing the little kids faces warms our bones.

We appreciate your kindness and support so we can spread the smiles!

See you next October for the 9th season of the Skeletons of Vivian Line.

SMILE… LAUGH… and ENJOY!

Cheers,
Melissa
